Ronin can be a cool dude and not show much enthusiasm or excitement, he gets that from his Dad! But OTHER times, he is just a little ball of excitement and then it is the "Best -------- Ever" (fill in with "Day" "Night" "Weekend" "Holiday" "Dinner" etc.). When I think of this past 3 day weekend away there are so many highlights. Meeting our beautiful new baby nephew/cousin Samuel, playing with 3yo Elizabeth who we haven't seen for so long, enjoying another gourmet feast cooked by BIL Jason, sitting on the rocks at Cronulla beach watching the moon rise after our dinner at Hogs Breath, the kids stopping for a walk on the beach somewhere on the coast and not being able to resist running into the surf, their unadultered glee at the sand and waves (they both got soaked and had to get changed in the back of the car while Daddy went and bought them hot chocolates to warm them up!), watching the blowhole at Kiama, and the beautiful white lighthouse, our gorgeous chocolate box country cottage in Woolamia with it's open fireplace, candles, brass beds, spa bath with rain shower, view over the little creek and paddock with alpacas, feeding the miniature horses and playing with the owner's 3 golden labs, fish and chips and "Monsters Inc" by the fire, discovering little beaches around Jervis Bay and the ruins of the Cape St George historic lighthouse.......so, so many fabulous moments we spent together this weekend. But the one that stands out was on the whale watching cruise yesterday (nope, no whales, lots of dolphins and some seals though!). As the boat gathered speed and the bow lifted and slammed down on the waves, Ronin just laughed hysterically. I have never seen someone enjoy anything so much, he just laughed and laughed with pure JOY! No-one could resist smiling or laughing with him, he LOVED it! What a perfect, perfect weekend with my family (except for the no whales....).
Cheers,
Tracey xx
