SCRAP STUFF:
Have still managed to get a few newsletter layouts done for The Scrap Heap - lots of new stuff at home to play with when I get a chance!!!

PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE:
I have 2 more lessons left, this week, on my photography course. It is all a lot clearer to me now LOL! I enjoyed the night course last week and got some great shots, including this one of the Carillion from Mt Ainslie. We also had a great field trip to the High Court playing with the reflections on the floors, moving water, and checking out the National Portrait Gallery, amongst other things! Plus we had a studio session where Taylor was one of the models. She thinks it looks like a school photo LOL! I am now under pressure to pratice, practice, practice. Lucky I enjoy it!!!
A BIG WEEKEND!
The school holidays were chock a block this time, with Tay's singing comp, Ronin's basketball camp and of course our weekend to Dubbo. We drove up on the Friday night of the long weekend and stayed overnight in a luxurious permanent tent structure with ensuite, within the confines of the zoo. We could hear the lions roaring, the peacocks calling and the Siamang apes singing! We enjoyed them all again on the 3 tours we took, afternoon, evening and early morning, including handfeeding the giraffes, rhinos and bongo! The meals in the dining room were delicious and we loved the whole thing!
The next day we met up with Jason, Bec, Elizabeth, Debbie, Trent and of course, Regan, for her first birthday get-together. The next day we joined friends and family at Debbie and Trent's home for a party, most deliciously catered for by Jason, who is such a talented cook!
Finally on the Monday we headed back to Canberra via Wellington Caves, where we took a tour with about 90 others of the Cathedral Cave, which was truly impressive. At one stage Taylor got up and sang the National Anthem in the Thunder Cave to demonstrate the acoustics. The applause was, well, THUNDEROUS! She was very brave and sang beautifully!
Ronin joined the Aussie Hoops basketball camp and unbelievably he spent 2 full days playing basketball, which he has never played before!! He loved it too, so we have him enrolled for the next term, beginning next week. I thought he was very brave since he knew no-one else there. He told me "Thats OK, I might meet new friends!!" - good kid!
So now I'm sitting in my garage, hoping to sell what's left after a really good turnout yesterday for our Garage Sale. All the big stuff has gone, which is great! After I closed the garage door yesterday afternoon a man came and snapped up the rest of the little boy's toys and books. I felt quite a bit of heartache watching the last remnants of my children's babyhood being lugged away by strangers :( We've kept the good and most meaningful stuff but as I placed "Peek a Boo" in the bag I remembered so many times full of joy and laughter when I read it first with Taylor then with Ronin. I hope a little child out there gets as much enjoyment out of it as we did.....
The rain started sprinkling so I've dragged everything in the garage so I think it's probably turning off any prospective customers. Time to lock up and go inside, and maybe have a nanna nap!!
LATER:
Well the rain stayed away but so did the customers, just a couple of people, so I packed up and went inside. I had a few knocks on the door and a couple of late sales and I had a lovely hour's nap before the kids got home and the rain came pouring down. It's cold and wet now, we're watching Idol (GO TOBY!!), Roni is in bed and Tay is finishing off the last bit of her homework before going to bed. I'm just about to watch "Bones" and then I'm off to bed too!!
Halloween and the school "Twilight Fair" on Saturday afternoon, Roni's first basketball session and Taylor's singing workshop in the morning! It stays busy from now til the end of year, but life is for living, right? Love you all!
