Unbelievably, Taylor was home for two days off school with a wicked sore throat, and by Saturday it was still very sore. Seeing as I know EXACTLY how she feels, having had a throat infection for TWO WEEKS now (ugh, I have so had enough of it!) I wasn't holding out much hope for her being ready to sing at the Brindabella Dance Festival in the vocal section today (Monday).
But she showed amazing determination and spoke barely a word over the whole weekend despite trips to one of Ronin's friends' birthday parties at DFO and an family outing to the movies to see "G-Force" in 3D on Saturday night! She's in trouble now as Dad and I now know that she can do anything if she puts her mind to it AND she can be quiet for WAY more than 5 minutes!!
So off we trotted to Erindale today and I really didn't know what to expect when she hit the stage and the opening strains of Taylor Swift's "The Best Day" floated out. But trouper that she is, although a bit husky, she sang beautifully and took home First Place. We are so proud of her! As she left the theatre the adjudicator took her aside and told her "Darling, keep up your lessons and performances, I think you have a lot of potential!". Well done sweetie!
Hope you enjoy!
