It's been a long haul.....

It's been a while, yes, the end of year mad rush, holidays and the beginning of the year are hectic times that's for sure, and made worse by this sad story.

One day, in attempt at cleaning up my hard disk on my MacBook, I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto library.

And then I emptied the trash.

Every photo on my computer.  Gone.

It was at this point I found out that my auto-back-up function had been disabled for some time.

Oh no!

I stopped using the computer and sent out an SOS to Chris, who was in the middle of an allnighter getting a tender in for a huge job.  I couldn't have picked a worse time!

Meanwhile I worked out that between back-up CDs, other documents on the computer, on my iPhone, Facebook, online galleries, other computers in the house and external drives, the latest photos on my camera memory card and even my blog, a lot could be recovered.

Chris advised me to download a recovery program which I did, it took a couple of days but it looks like it has recovered the lot.  It is all in a big unsorted chunk, some photos are there many times over, there is so much sorting out to do, and I'm over half way through, but there is a lot more to be done.

So here I am, back for the moment.  Some scrapping is getting done, stuff is getting done in the house, the kids are doing well at school, all is OK.

So I thought I might blog!

I'll just share a few bits and pieces from the last few months.  Good to share with you all again!

PS.  back-up again and again and again - definitely back-up offsite, on a flash drive and/or CDs!  As regularly as you can!

Oh Tracey, 2 words on the back up thing - Time machine. And another 2 - Time capsule. I love the fact that I don't have to think about backing up.

Gorgeous pics btw, just stunning!
