Orange & Brown - Black & White

After all the excitement of the heartstopping win of Collingwood over Adelaide last week, and all the anticipation during the week, it was fairly apparent once the third quarter of last night's match got underway that Geelong were going to be the ones to meet St Kilda in the 2009 AFL Grand Final. So as forseen for the last couple of months the two top teams will duke it out for the Premiership. I'll be going for the Saints to win their first flag since 1964! And for the Pies to be Premiers in 2010! We do better in the start-of-a-new-decade years eg. 1990 Hee hee!

To cushion the blow were the delicious Collingwood cupcakes hand delivered by the equally delectable Ainslee yesterday afternoon!! They tasted as delicious as they look too! The kids each had one while watching their movie in the media room. We still have a few things to do in there yet. I need to find a nice big ottoman and some funky bean bags and Chris needs to build in shelves for the DVDs and CDs, and put in the new Ikea cupboard above the sink. I also need to decorate the walls, I have some photo frames and I'm looking for just the right wall transfer!

One thing I did find (apart from the cushions, which I have been collecting!) was this GORGEOUS orange hand-made doily picked up at the Handmade Market at Yarralumla Woolshed last weekend! Had such a great time with Ainslee, Sarah, Yvette and Kylie, including a yummy dinner at Wagamama and dessert at Koko Black afterwards! Can't wait for the next market, in November!! I'm taking more cash with me this time!

I spent the week suffering through a throat infection that developed into a cold, so I only managed to get done what was absolutely necessary. So the kids and I had a nice relaxing weekend. Friday night and yesterday I had a big creative surge and completed 6 layouts for The Scrap Heap Inspiration Team Newsletter! I'm sharing some here for you! I slept in this morning, well I should say I had a lie-in, finishing off the new Dan Brown novel "The Lost Symbol", a Da Vinci Code style mystery thriller set in Washington DC and involving secrets of the Freemasons. I loved it!! Afterwards, the kids and I had pancakes for lunch and watched "Wizards of Waverly Place - the Movie" which was heaps of fun, before getting all out outside chores done, cleaning up, washing, dog walking etc.

Tonight it's Idol and Ironing! One more week of school til the holidays, that's gotta be a good thing! See you all next time!

Love, Trace xxx
