Now, here was a day when I didn't take my camera. Some memories need to be made in your head, you know? Taylor and I had a Mummy/Daughter day on Thursday. We went to the local mall, had a pedicure together which was so fun and now we have matching pretty feet - although mine are a purpley/red and Tay's are aqua (of course!). Then we had lunch, and did some shopping for some cute girly clothes (including her first bra) and finally we went to the movies to see the long-awaited "Hairspray" which we had been singing along to for a few weeks, since we got the CD. What a lovely day!
Friday night she went to a sleepover party for her BFF Katelyn but about 12.45am I got a call, her ear was killing her and she was crying to come home. I went and got her and gave her some panadol, she crashed in her own bed. Next morning the doc told me she had a bad ear infection and would have pain for a few days. She's on strong antibiotics but no swimming lesson tomorrow or dancing tonight. She made it through school and will do so again tomorrow I hope, but she'll have panadol just in case.
Ronin is obviously feeling left out in the sleepover department, he has set up his bed on the floor for a "sleepover" with his stuffed toys. Hopefully Chris won't break his back picking him and all his bedding and pillows up off the floor to tuck him in later! It's good to have Chris home as it looks like he only has ONE out of the next 9 weekends before Christmas at home! Penang, Thailand, Sydney, Brisbane & Hawaii!!! Hopefully on the one weekend he has free we can arrange for Jason, Rebecca and Elizabeth to come for a visit!!! Crossing fingies for that!
I won't post about our Melbourne trip yet, I need to download the photos so will do later in the week but thanks Di for having us, despite our sudden trip home (Tay had bad asthma and was coughing all night so we left a day early). It was great to see Di and the boys - her house is looking fabulous! She is just the most inspiring person, a wonderful Mum, great provider and amazing friend. I'm so lucky to have her as my sister! Ronin had a ball playing rough and tumble boy games with Rhys and Jake and their mates! I think they came the off worse for wear though! He just adores his 'boy cousins'! Rhys is so tall now with a deep manly voice, and his smile is so gorgeous, showing off his lovely teeth now his braces are off, and what a great basketballer! Jake's team won their grand final but it is starting to appear that Cricket is his big love! He and Taylor sat and watched TV companionable together quite a lot, he is so cute with his long blonde hair! It was also great to see Mum and Dad (glad you like your phone Dad!). Ronin loved looking at all Dad's model ships and Taylor loved playing Uno with Nana! And what a lovely afternoon tea we had at my brother and SIL's on the Sunday! Cara made us delicious homemade scones and served them with jam and cream - what more could you want? My gorgeous nieces are growing up so quick! Katherine has become such a beautiful young lady, Courtney is such a fabulously talented dancer, Jade is doing so well in school and little Maddie is just a ball of personality!
I would just like to take a moment to say high to my friend Chrissy, who underwent surgery this morning. I hope all goes well sweetie, you poor thing. I'm sending you love and positive vibes!
Trace xx
