A Day In The Big City

We all had a great day today on our trip to the Big City! This was the city I went to work in every day for many years when I was younger, but to them, it was huge (well I suppose it would be compared to Canberra!). The main attraction was the public transport and we caught trains and trams galore which thrilled them both.

We met Auntie Di for lunch and then went to the Melbourne Museum which is absolutely fantastic! We watched a movie in the IMAX theatre, a short 3D underwater flick narrated by Johnnny Dep and Kate Winslet. Ronin was terrified and wouldn't keep the glasses on but Tay and I loved it and imagined that this was what it was like when Daddy went diving!

Soon we got to see all the stuff Roni wanted to see - Dinosaur Skeletons! Being an almost-4yo boy Dinosaurs are big news anyway, but since we saw "Night in the Museum" he has been dying to see a full sized real life dino skeleton! Although some of them were recreations, it was all pretty cool to my boy. Both he and Tay also enjoyed all the Melbourne memorabilia and especially Phar Lap.

So it was a great day, even though my feet are dropping off and there are a few muscles aching after our bowling outing yesterday. Yeah, did I tell you we went bowling? Good old Keon Park Bowl - I remember my folks going there in another lifetime! Anyway, Ronin was very cool and loved the bowling balls, plus his tiny shoes were sooooo cute! Damn it, I forgot the camera - do you believe it? Nephew Rhys took a few pics with his camera so will share if any good when he downloads them on my puter! Oh, and I won! After how many eons since I bowled (not that I've done it much ever anyway!!) but family v. family the Payntings snuck in as Champs!

Di made a delicious Roast Lamb last night and tonight it was my turn to make beef strog. Then she made herself very popular by bringing home Krispy Kremes! Yum!

Is so cool having my notebook here with me, using Di's wireless broadband, so I can keep up with my emails and blogs and so on!

Just sharing some more pics for the fam back in Canberra, especially Daddy, and all my friends out there as well! Can't wait to get home and scrap some of them! See ya!
