Damn it's Hot in Here!

Hi all!

I'm sitting here in my fleecy track pants, long sleeved tee, jacket, bed sox and slippers after days in the sultry 30s! What weird weather! And the drought news is not good is it? I bought the kids a timer for their showers but I heard a good idea about putting buckets in there as well, might try that too. Just have to hook up our gigantinormous water tank buried beneath the decking and do a rain dance so we can use that in the loo as well! Anyway, who knows what the weather will bring next week, with the kids back at school. I have the summer uniforms all ironed and ready to go so we're OK there. Can't believe it's Term 4 - last weeks of Year 3 for Taylor :(

Chris has been busy getting all his around-the-house (and garage) stuff done while he's home between trips, and he's off tomorrow to do another Ikea run to get the stuff for my scrapping room and to change the doors for his garage cupboards as they gave him the wrong size. I have a lazy susan thing in my corner cupboard now - so excellent! - and Ronin has two fabulous big "leaves" perched above his bed, so much fun!

Taylor had a fabulous time today at her best friend's birthday party at a place called "Pink Kisses". She came back "made over" as a "Rock Angel" with snazzy hair complete with blond hair piece, and her face all made up with masses of glitter and make-up - so cute! I did this layout to celebrate her being 9 years old. I know a girl who's mother insists on treating her 9yo like she's 16 - layered, blonded hair, clothes more suitable for older girl, "M" movies and whatnot. I'm happy for my girl to still like playing with her dolls, sleeping with her Care Bears and watching "G" movies with just a touch of Hilary Duff, Australian Idol, "High School Musical", budding fashion brand awareness (could do without the preteen cheek though!) and interest in make-up pretty much limited to lipgloss and glittery cheeks :)

Ronin has been enjoying having his sister around, especially when it comes to trashing her bedroom, being annoying and commiting violence against her! The "Naughty Chair" has had quite a workout the last few days I must say! On the good side, we had a win with the toilet training today and I was quite happy not to have to clean up any messes, despite continuing his habit of waiting until his nighttime nappy is on to do number twos! Better than the floor or his undies I supposed! We all had a great time at the pool yesterday. It was completely packed, so we didn't stay long. Ronin kept asking Chris to go under with him, they'd do the "one two three" and off they'd go and sit on the bottom for a sec. Ronin had us in hysterics as he actually TALKS underwater LOL! Let's hope he will get in the water on Tuesday for his swimming lesson now!

As for me, I've had some fun sorting out all my scrapping stuff due to the furniture shuffling to have our family room tiled. Unfortunately, my "wireless card" (apparently helps with the internet ROFL!) has done a whoopsy and until we get a new one or whatever I have to sneak onto Chris's puter to check mail, do my IT stuff and blog - so I'm sorry for delays! :(

These are some recent LOs. The one of Chris was to show "creative journaling". Chris took this one checking out my new camera the day I got it home. It made the kids laugh when I bought it up on the puter. But I changed it to B&W and upped the contrast and wow, his eyes just seemed to burn out of the photo, so I went with that.

The one of Ronin was a challenge by the fabulous Michelle Mullins on the The Scrap Heap Inspiration Team - what a beauty! "One colour, one embellishment of a different colour and title "You Are.." - thanks Mish, like a challenge! Got to use some of my Fancy Pants Biggest Board swirls on that one, and the one of Tay too - yummy! And there's a LO of me too. I'm playing around with bling for my "Bling It On" class at SWIG this coming weekend. Hope to see some of you there!

Take care everyone, and hope the heat doesn't get to you all too much!
