Late Night Scrapping

What the heck am I doing up at this time of night? Why is it that I get a creative urge to scrap madly after 10pm??? I sort of get a second wind. I could keep going you know, only it's 12.30, my darlin' man is home tomorrow and I don't want to greet him with big black suitcases hanging under my eyes (after all the haircut will be scary enough!). I've been struggling to find inspiration this week, I missed some challenges and other scrapping commitments, but last night at bloody-late-o'clock I got the idea for this layout, and it all just came together so quickly. However my little circle of song lyrics was a bit time intensive and it was bewwy bewwy late whenI hit the sack. This arvo, the urge hit a bit earlier, but I've been on a maaaad roll, and managed to churn out 4 pages I absolutely love - go figure!

It's when I stick to my simple/lots of white space/handwritten style that it all seems to flow and I like the results. When I try to do something "not me" I lose my "Kwan" and it's all just blank sheets of cardstock and piles of pretty paper, no ideas at all!

So that explains why I am here. It's been a long week. On Wednesday I finally filmed some of the DVD. I so wasn't expecting any of the on-camera stuff that day, just some filming and still photography of layouts. So I was totally unprepared and probably made absolutely no sense whatsoever and will probably have to refilm it! At least all but one of my Bird Flu spots disappeared and an inch or so of makeup took care of that last little bugger! And would you believe, the hair played nice. I left it wet with a bit of styling mousse in it and had to take some rubbish outside in the morning, the wind was icy and gale force. I came inside and VOILA! perfectly styled hair!

After the production team left, I jumped into my trackies and had some lunch, then decided to ride the bike, with trolley attached, to school to collect Taylor (my car was at the detailers). Chris had been very organised and had pulled everything apart and put them in the shed. After some inventive thinking I managed to get it all back together, all the while imagining Ronin careering off on his own in the trolley a la Charlie Chaplain movie because I didn't do it all properly! Helmets on, Tay's scooter in the trolley with the boy and off we shot. Ooops, tyres way flat so expertly pumped them up and tried again. Now it appeared I needed to do a bit of a Commonwealth Games record to get there in time, but I was optimistic!

Up the hill and heading for school I was suddenly pedaling up hill against a gale force wind strong enough to blow my helmet off! What the...? I couldn't get the darn bike to go forward it was that strong! So, I had to push the thing the whole way up the hill against the wind, sometimes almost getting blown backwards. It was getting late and I was worried about my girl but a friend came along when I was almost there and went and fetched her to me. It was downhill with a tailwind all the way, I think I might have broken the landspeed record. Little daredevil in the back kept yelling "Faster faster!" and Tay was getting up serious speed wobbles on her purple Bratz scooter! I thought I was about to lift off at one point! Anyway, I figure I got a good workout that day!

Today, Ronin had one of those days that all kids have occassionally, where it took a gnat's burp to set him off screaming or crying. We dropped Sandra off at the mall on the way to the gym, but the change in route left him flummoxed, he must have thought that "creche" meant the play area in the shopping centre, and when we headed for the gym he became hysterical. There was no way I was going to get him into the creche, let alone be able to leave him there, in the ridiculous state he had gotten himself into. And I couldn't go home because I was picking up Sandra. So we went to the shops and found her and bought him some new Chicken Little pjs and Spiderman slipper boots and headed home.

The new purchases HAD to go on immediately. Before I could say Cleo Centrefold he was stripped down and trying to get the jarmies on. I helped him, but something then set him off again, I think I looked at him the wrong way or whatever, and he got so riled up I put him in his room. Don't know what he did but he had a wardrobe malfunction and wet down the inside of his nappy, soaking the new pjs and slippers. Could you think of anything worse that could happen at this point of the drama? It took a while, and a chockie egg from Nanny, to settle him down and get him into his clothes again. Wouldn't surprise me if he's comng down with something, although he crashed tonight and is still sound asleep. Let's cross fingies! He certainly wasn't himself anyway.

Tay has been struggling with her newfound good behaviour in the lead-up to Daddy's return, but she hasn't let it get out of hand, reining in the bad behaviour pretty quickly and apologising and calming down, whereas previously it would just keep escalating until I had to go outside and take a few deep breaths and try not to think evil thoughts!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Thank you to everyone who has been reading and commenting! I think it's well into tomorrow now so I'm going to bed!

Nighty night!

LOL Tracey - you are such a great story teller! I often 'blow dry' my hair at the clothesline but sadly have yet to get a good result.

Glad to hear Chris will be home for your birthday. Have a great day :)
