Here comes Peter Cottontail......

I suppose you all thought there'd be a fabulous photo of me on my birthday here on my Blog, but would you believe that my battery was flat on my camera and I couldn't find the spare (and of course, there's the hair issue!). My family didn't even get me a cake actually!

Thank heavens for my wonderful neighbours, the French family, who popped over after dinner, all 8 of them in the jarmies, bearing a delicious chocolate birthday cake made by 11yo Maddison (thanks Maddie!).

It was the end to a lovely, lazy day that started with Taylor (with a little help from Nanny, no doubt following the Little Colonel's commands!) making pancakes for brekky, Sandra doing all the cleaning up and even doing a few loads of washing and ironing, then all of them retiring to different rooms to do their own thing, leaving me to scrap this page, and play around on the internet! I got lovely phone calls from all my family, lots of emails from my online friends, and a visit from my dear friend Lizette bearing a cupcake with a candle, and a little box of Lindt chocolate balls all for me! I even got to watch the footy in the evening to see my team (Collingwood) win - congratulations Anthony Rocca on your 8 goals! Wow!

There is an interesting story to this layout. The lovely and talented Belinda Buchanan (thank you for your beautiful card Belinda) mentioned the other day that she is using old stuff from her stash on every second layout. Seriously, I'm starting to disappear under my stash, yummy though it all may be! So I have decided to try to do more "old stuff" layouts too. Glancing through a recent "Simple Scrapbooks" mag I saw a lovely page done using a few coloured label holders and thought that was a great idea.

So here is my layout of my gorgeous Ronin, taken last year outside while he enjoyed some water play, looking very much like his big sister in this one. I love how you can see his beautiful long eyelashes and the water droplets on his cheeks. I used the remainder of a pack of Heidi Swapp chipboard label holders and an old K&Co "Life's Journey" frame along with some brand new Basic Grey "Hang 10" 'Slow Mo' paper, some doodling and an MM circle foam stamp with some Denim ink.

Keep reading my blog over the coming weeks. I have a couple of exciting projects on the go. The first you know about, the DVD with Rosemary and Geoff Crane, and as a consequence of that my friend Ainslee from "Scrap Junkie" and I are soon going to be bringing you all something fabulous, that hopefully you cannot scrap without! So "Watch This Space"!!

Speaking of friends, pop over to the lovely Chrissy_Berry's fab blog and get a load of the GORGEOUS photos their daughter Emily took of Chrissy and her hubby Michael just the other day! Chrissy is not only beautiful to look at, but inside as well. Not only that but she is a talented scrapper and craftperson as well (not to mention teacher, friend, godmother and Mum!) Thanks for all your help and encouragement Chrissy! xxx

Well, it's been a busy few days with school and dancing wrapping up for the term, not to mention Ronin's swimming lessons and Gymbaroo. My darling brother Darren and his wife the lovely Cara are heading my way with my four beautiful nieces, Katherine, Courtney, Jade and Maddison for four days over Easter - I can't wait, it will be the first time they have all been here together! Along with birthdays (mine and tomorrow Sandra's - happy birthday Mum!), Chris coming home, blogs and scrapping, I've been trying to get the house primped and polished for their arrival.

No doubt there will be many photos over the next week or so, and lots of scrapping to do as well! Thanks for sharing my life everyone - happy Easter!

Traccles - this is Auntie Jannie, soon to be Grannie Jannie. What a talented and thinking girl you are. Some people are blessed with a natural talent and some people work really hard to develop talent - you my girl just simply have it in abundance. Happy Birthday, hope you enjoy the lindt balls - reckon they're one of the best things on the planet. Happy Easter with the Fam and go the Saints on Thursday night.
