Weight loss - lets not talk too much about this, it's still holidays really, isn't it? OK, back to WW on Monday, and back to the diet.....
Exercise - I've been busy (when not laying about in pain and on painkillers!) packing and moving stuff so that alone is a fair bit of exercise, but I had to cancel PT his week due to the root canal, I was hoping for a reschedule for today but haven't heard anything, so back on Tuesday I hope! Meanwhile, Taylor and I have been to two Zumba classes, so that's not too bad!
Writing - I haven't actually been writing, and it may seem a cop out but I have been brainstorming and checking up on writing workshops and critique groups so it's still a work in progress. It's hard to find a chunk of time to write with the kids home from school.
Scrapbooking - everything is still in storage but I have 90% of my room complete and have started moving what stuff is here into it, although it still all needs to be placed in it's new home. Then I will start bringing boxes back from the storage unit and putting it away - woohoo!
Photography - I haven't taken my camera out in a couple of weeks, but I plan a photoshoot of the kids (or Taylor at least) this weekend, if not today. In the meantime, I have been keeping up with my 365 project via my iPhone. I love the Hipstamatic app and have chosen to use it for this challenge when the big camera hasn't had an outing. I am using the John S lens, I love the green/blue tinge. I have been trying to update the blog daily with the photo but here are the first 12 so far.
WISHING YOU LUCK!
So today being Friday the 13th, some expect bad luck (and The Man has had his share this morning, case in point!) but I see it as a good luck day! Are you superstitious? I always throw salt over my shoulder if I spill it, cringe if anyone puts new shoes on a table or an umbrella up inside, will avoid walking under a ladder (for safety more than superstition is my story!) and I shudder if a black cat walks across my path! But I don't think I actually believe in it. I will never pass on a chain letter (so don't send me one, emails either) and so far my life is going OK. I am very serious about it, since receiving one in the mail the week I bought my first new baby home, threatening death of myself or a loved one if I didn't send it off to 10 friends within 10 days blah blah blah. I cannot imagine what friend of mine would send me something like that at that time, and I seriously don't want to know! I think I believe in fate or odds rather than luck, but a lot of it is thumped into you as a child so it's hard to ignore it! Of course, a Baker's Dozen is 13. I mean, you get an extra bread roll, that's gotta be a good thing doesn't it??? However, some believe that 13 is unlucky, and folklore attaches much bad luck to Friday as well. So Friday + 13 = super bad luck! Oh dear! So if you are not a "Paraskevidekatriaphobic" (people with a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th), I wish you a good day. Either way, it's worth looking at some of the lore.....
From www.about.com "Urban Legends":
UNLUCKY 13
Legend has it: If 13 people sit down to dinner together, one will die within the year. The Turks so disliked the number 13 that it was practically expunged from their vocabulary (Brewer, 1894). Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue. Many buildings don't have a 13th floor. If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck (Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names). There are 13 witches in a coven.
UNLUCKY FRIDAY
Legend has it: Never change your bed on Friday; it will bring bad dreams. If you cut your nails on Friday, you cut them for sorrow. Don't start a trip on Friday or you will encounter misfortune. Ships that set sail on a Friday will have bad luck, as in the tale of H.M.S. Friday. One hundred years ago, the British government sought to quell the longstanding superstition among seamen that setting sail on Fridays was unlucky. A special ship was commissioned and given the name "H.M.S. Friday." They laid her keel on a Friday, launched her on a Friday, selected her crew on a Friday, and hired a man named Jim Friday to be her captain. To top it off, H.M.S. Friday embarked on her maiden voyage on a Friday — and was never seen or heard from again.
Hope I haven't made things worse........bwah ha ha ha!!!!
Cheers,
Tracey
