Surprise Visit & Vintage Style!

SURPRISE VISIT

Sadly, we had to cancel a planned weekend away to see the Lego exhibition in Sydney but it was way better to be home today when SIL Belinda, niece Rhylie and nephew Hunter came to visit all the way from Townsville!  They were in Wagga for her brother's army passing out ceremony so how could she not come to Canberra when she was so close?  I had to take the chance to grab a few quick photos while they were here.  It was our first time meeting Hunter and it had been quite a few years since we had seen Rhylie either (well, except for Chris, who visited them in Townsville a month or so ago when he was there for work).  Hunter is the image of his Mum with beautiful blonde hair, still in baby curls.  He will be a heartbreaker!  Rhylie is growing up and just started her second year at school.  She has the most adorable gap where she has lost her front teeth!  I hope it's not too long til we see them again!

SHE HAS STYLE
Taylor is developing a style based on 40s & 50s vintage fashion with a touch of the current trends.  She loves short jumpsuits and military jackets too.  Yesterday was her last day at NIDA and afterwards we spent an afternoon and evening together, a lovely restaurant dinner followed by chocolate overload at Koko Black then off to the movies to see "The Kings Speech".  She is interested in seeing films with "good acting" and her favourite actress of the moment is Helena Bonham-Carter (in a large part due to her Harry Potter addiction and her love of "Alice in Wonderland"!).  We also managed to squeeze in a spot of shopping where she picked up this navy polka-dot short jumpsuit and these cool red sunnies.  When she came out wearing it with her red bandana in her hair I hd to do a little fashion shoot!

Cheers!
