Jase's recipes

Just thought I'd share some of my BIL Jason's terrific, and hysterical, recipes, which he shares on Facebook.
Look out for more in the future too:

BEER CAN CHICKEN
BEST AND EASIEST CHOOK YOU’LL HAVE
(Trust me, i know things and stuff)

1.8Kg Chook
1 Can of Beer (try something like Guiness)
Juice of 1 Lemon
Sea Salt

Turn the oven to 180’c / or whack a BBQ with a hood on high
Wash the little Lady under cold water and pat dry with paper towel.
Drink half the beer. If you drink more then half, crack another and start again. This is essential.
Drizzle the Bird with the lemon juice and rub in the salt.
Jam the can up its clacker so it’s like a tripod. Place on a baking tray.
Bung it in the oven or BBQ for 45 minutes.
Stick it with a skewer between the leg and booby, if the liquid runs clear she’s ready, if not, give it another 10.
IMPORTANT: let it stand for 10 to 15 before carving.
Enjoy. Have another beer.

No Bake Chocolate Tart

200g Shortbread biscuits
100g butter
1 tblspn golden syrup
200g dark chocolate
1 tsp vanilla essence
200mL thickened cream
2 tblspn sifted pure icing sugar
cocoa powder and halved strawberries to serve

• Put the biscuits in a blender and whiz the shit out of em
• Put the butter and golden syrup in a saucepan over low heat, stirring til the butter has melted. (Or nuke it to get the same result)
• Pour the melted goodness into the blender and whack it again.
• Press the biscuit mix evenly into a flan or pie dish then bung it the fridge til you need it.
• Get a small pot of simmering water and put a heat proof bowl on top (don’t let the bowl touch the water) and throw in the Choc. Stir until smooth then let the sucker cool down for 5.
• Whip the cream and fold into the choc mix.
• Pour into dirty little tarts and for at least 2 hours.

Serve with shaved chocolate, whipped cream, the strawbs and sprinkle with cocoa powder. Piece of piss.

Also, happy birthday to my SIL in Townsville - have a great day Belinda, we're thinking of you!  Woohoo!

I'm off to watch "Mamma Mia"!!
