Another Teenage Milestone

On Tuesday, Taylor had her top braces put on.  She has been great about them, and so far she is fanatical about keeping them clean and is following the eating recommendations.  She has a few ulcers and sores from rubbing but her main complaint is that she feels claustrophobic and "trapped", usually when she is tired and her old anxiety comes to the surface.  Her main lament is that she can't eat tacos!  LOL!

So this afternoon before all the light faded we did a quick photo shoot so we can share her new look with family and friends. Braces have come a long way from my High School days when it was quite a horrific experience, both dentally and even more so, socially.  Not many kids in those days had parents who could afford them, so you stood out and were teased as "train tracks", "metal mouth" etc.  These days, it's more common than not so getting braces is almost like becoming part of the club, there's even a little bit of prestige attached!  She couldn't wait to get to school to show everyone, especially one of her besties who only got hers on a few weeks ago.

So here she is, still beautiful, looking a bit closer to the 13 she really is for a change, my cute little Brace Face!

Cheers,

Tracey xx
