Sometimes life just gets so full of ordinary moments, they seem to bog you down, and you can't see the beauty of the days passing you by. Two things that help me to bring those moments into focus for me is photography and scrapbooking. I see and capture things using my camera that would have gone unnoticed. The look in an eye, the perfection of nature, a special moment that will never repeat. Scrapbooking forces me to spend more time looking at my photos, discovering the words and stories behind them, and recording them forever. And both of these things meet my needs for creativity as they both use similar artistic methods but in different ways. When I get so busy with the nothing that these things get overlooked, when my scrapdesk is left cluttered and unused and my camera remains in it's case, there is a part of me that is not being nourished. When I pick up that camera and see life through that viewfinder, when I start bringing together card and papers and embellishments and photos and words, it is like my soul breathes a big sigh of relief. So slow down, look around, and find your own way of capturing the precious moments in your life.
Here are some of my creations from the past few weeks including Easter and Ronin's investiture into Joey Scouts.
